Boomerslop is a subtype of AI slop. The “boomer” part points to a stereotyped audience and aesthetic; it does not establish the creator's age.
A generic AI-written product review might be called AI slop for offering little useful information. Boomerslop makes a more specific claim about the content's appeal to an imagined older audience. Obvious AI mistakes or appearing on Facebook are not enough on their own; the label also points to a stereotyped taste for sentimental or fantastical material.

The word is dismissive. Calling a post boomerslop judges the content and can also sneer at the people imagined to enjoy it. Neither someone's age nor their use of Facebook proves they believe every AI image they see.

Cambridge Dictionary's New Words blog featured boomerslop on December 8, 2025, citing a Business Insider example dated November 6. This was an observation of a word in circulation, not confirmation that Cambridge had added it to its main dictionary. The post does not identify a coiner.
